It’s been 3 years since this 102-acre inaccessible lot was purchased under the guise of being used to provide services for homeless people.

Since then, there have been numerous community surveys, public meetings, the creation of a guidebook and formation of a standing city led committee to advise on development of this site.

Now seeking another $$500K for consultants to study and recommend how to develop the $12mil inaccessible 102 acre lot....... No interest or efforts to develop any of the vacant lots along Meadowview road that have undeveloped for over 40 plus years

A whole lot of money, time, effort and energy devoted to a project that is not likely to be developed until 4-5 years minimum.

In the meantime, MV roads continue to deteriorate, hundreds of acres of undeveloped blighted fields that have remained in this condition for decades.

The $12 million spent to purchase 102-acre property should have been used to repair and develop long neglected parts of MV. Decades of neglect.

If this property is ever actually developed, it will primarily serve the new Delta Shores community, not MV.

Another consultant hired. After all of the previous meetings, gatherings, surveys, etc., it appears this company is getting $500K do some more consulting.

Suggestion
A market such as Trader Joe's or a Whole food would be nice, depending on the floor spacing
Suggestion
A late night coffee shop would be great (instead of traveling to midtown for those options)
Suggestion
If a larger grocer isn't possible then smaller healthier markets that sell organic food would be important!
Suggestion
I like the idea of a healthy large grocer like Sprouts or Nuggets in this area since there is a lot of more options for healthy and organic foods. Stores that accept EBT as well.
Question
Is the City considering the proximity of the site to light rail and if grants are available for incentivizing development near public transportation?
