Suggestion
As a resident of Sacramento, I take great pride in the city's tree canopy and generally appreciate the plan to expand it. i am particularly glad the plan recognizes the effect of climate change and the benefit trees can have in helping to address it. At the same time, I hope the final plan will recognize that the severe weather produced by climate change increases the danger of damage and downing of some trees that weren't at risk in past climate conditions. This new reality should be added to the factors considered when trees are assessed for possible removal. Possibly trees more appropriate for the new climate reality could be planted after at-risk trees are removed. Thanks for considering this suggestion.
