Welcome to the Draft Plan Workshop

The Sacramento Urban Forest Plan (SUFP) is the City’s primary planning tool for the protection, expansion, maintenance, sustainability, and enhancement of Sacramento’s Urban Forest. The core of the SUFP is a set of goals, policies, implementation measures, and actions that set ambitious urban forestry targets, measure progress towards those targets, and support a healthy and sustainable urban forest. The policy and program framework of the SUFP informed the development of the City’s 2040 General Plan and the Climate Action & Adaptation Plan (CAAP), as related to the urban forest, and was integrated into these plans to serve as an implementation tool.

The primary goal of the SUFP is to increase the citywide Urban Tree Canopy from the current 19% to 25% by 2030 and 35% by 2045.
